Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl

Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl

2006-08-13 by swensononi

I just got this paper and my first attempt at printing on it
was "bad". I tried using the same profile I use when printing on
Epson premium semi-gloss. Way too dark.

I was wondering if anyone else has printed on this paper and can point
me in the right direction. I print on a 2200, using the basic UC ink
set. I was using photo black. Any guidelines on where to start as to
media and profile settings would be appreciated. I think I originally
chose lustre paper as the media, and epson semi gloss PK as the
profile. I was printing at 2880 dpi (which I like to do, and the ink
limiter was already slid quite far to the left) and way too much ink
wasw laid down.

The profile you used was probably created at 1440 dpi, in which case
that is what you should use. When you print at 2880 dpi using a profile
created at 1440 dpi, you will always get a dark print.

Good luck.

I print other papers at 2880 dpi with great success, using QTR's
stock profiles. The key has been sliding the ink limiter to the
left. But that wasn't my question. Let's just forget I said too
dark and 2880 dpi. What are some successful paper profiles people
have used with this paper, aside from creating one from scratch?

With the epson 4000 printer I am getting excellent results on FAP by using
the ISmooth pearl neutral profile. Make sure that in Print with Preview your
print space profile is QTR-grey photo paper.

Hi,

What are your dpi settings? 1440 or 2880 dpi?

Also, do you use photo black or matte (assuming you tested the FAP
with UC inks)?

Have experienced any bronzing?

With kind regards,
