QTR-Quadtone RIP

I am new to printing with an Epson and I am very pleased with my first
attempts.  Here are some random questions that I have. I am using a
1280 with UT-2 inks.  I am interested in putting a continous flow
system on my 1280, is there something I should know between the
spongeless and (I assume) sponged system?  Next question, what is the
prefered method of digitizing B&W 4x5 negatives?  I have tried every
approach I can think of except drum scans. Just wondering what
everyone else does.  If you have someone else do these negative scans
then who do you use?

Hi Jeff:
I ran 3 1280's with CF systems, 2 Piezzo and the other MIS (basically the  
same equipment).
I sold my 1280's and replaced them with wide formats. I don't recommend the  
tube style CFS systems, because they eventually have ink back-up, air in the  
tubes, failed nozzle checks, and enuf to drive you to profanity and  beyond.
The new spongeless funnel fill or syringe-fill carts are much better. I now  
use MIS funnel-fill carts on my 7500, a 4000, and will soon convert the NK7 
4000  to funnel-fill and bottled inks.
They really work, and are trouble free. 
Check the MIS website for your machines.

I scan with an Imacon and the results are great.
