Profiles for Epson 3800

Profiles for Epson 3800

2006-12-30 by George Butch

Let me be clear that I am brand new to the notion of creating profiles
using QTR. I have used it for some time to make prints on a 2200
using Epson's UC inks.

I have just purchased an Epson Stylus Pro 3800. But since no profiles
yet exist for this printer, I thought I'd experiment.

The problem is that I cannot print the Ink Separation test page. I
tried all of listed 8 color printer models listed in QTR but each has
some issue that prevents a proper printout on a 3800. Wrong size,
wrong orientation, or I generate a printer error.

I then tried printing from PhotoShop with color management turned off.
I thought that might be the solution based on page 12 of Tom Moore's
User Guide. Obviously, that didn't work either.

The 3800 replaces a 2200 that will shortly be loaded with Jon Cone's
K7 ink. I want to be able to use QTR with both printers.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

George,
I don't think the 3800 is supported by QTR yet. Roy has said he is
working on it, so hopefully soon.
