Epson R1800 printing problem

Hi all, I purchased a pack of Ilford Smooth Pearl Paper and used the Hahnemuhle curves. The result is wonderful and QTR printed it ok. Now if recall correctly before adding another giga of memory, QTR was much faster than it is now, spooling a 8x10 image at 3500x2500 pix takes more than 5 minutes. I had to set the spooling setting from start printing immediately to print when complete. This speeded up things a bit, but still slow. But with this I can live with. Another problem is, that I tried to print a toned print with Epson driver to compare the print with QTR-printed one, and the Epson driver printed few inches, then spit out the paper grabbing another sheet. The monitor showed error after this. I tried again, and the result was, that the sheet of Pearl, was put right thru the printer, without any printing at all. The I resetted the printer resulting again only few inches of print. After this I turned the printer off, and rebooted XP. Then the print was printed ok with Epson driver. Only thing between good QTR print and this erraneous printing was, that I changed two carts. The printer has never done this before using Epson papers. I've read on the net, that this can be a communication error, or paper feed problem. Could this be a symptom of paper feed problem, as this happened with Ilford Pearl paper? Anybody encountered this type of problems with R1800? Thanks -matti
