Total Newbie Question: Getting started with an Epson 2200

2007-01-11 by Ilene Samowitz

I am interested in getting started printing b&W prints with my new
used Epson 2200 printer. I have received but not purchased yet a gift
to buy a set a ink for this endeavor. I have not yet used QuadtoneRIP
and am interested in getting started using this program as well as
getting insight or direction about which set of ink to purchase and
other getting started tips. Will I need to have a dedicated B&W
printer, etc?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Ilene

With QTR you can achieve creditable BW prints with the Epson inks which then lets you print colour on the same printer.

It's a good way to start anyway and there are no problems with ink flow with the Epson inks. If it's not good enough for your needs for BW you can always change to MIS or Cone K7 inks later.

Good luck,

The good new is you can have both - The K7 inkset from inkjetmall.com
used with QTR NK7 print model - and down loaded curves gives
wonderful results without much fuss on the 2200 and you can easily
switch back to your color inkset
