QTR-Quadtone RIP

I've been using MIS UT7 sets for about 2 years in my
2200.  Before that I did BO exclusively.  Now I do a
split.

Over the last few weeks I've had MIS gliches from hell
with ink carts that wouldn't behave.

I downloaded QTR, reloaded my Epson color ink set and
I'm very satisfied with the B&W prints I get on both
mat and glossy paper. Very easy, Epson ink sets are
reliable and easy to buy online, Staples, CompUSA etc.

Will I use UT7 again.  Yes for sure.  The replacements
for the bad carts arrived today.

I say give QTR a try with the Epson ink set.

What about the bronzing on glossy papers?

Yes there is some on Epson P-Luster but I only use
that for proofs for Crane SR or Innova F Gloss.  Those
papers barely bronze at all IMO.

As for really glossy papers I really only use that
paper for color and for prints I give to friends, you
know like here's some 4x6's of New Years kind of
thing.

Does QTR UC7 bronze more than MIS UT7? I'd have to so
a back to back, but it isn't really 100% fair to
compare. 

UT7 uses Ebony for glossy papers too.  I bet UT7 wins
here.  It's just I've had such a bad run of problems
with UT7 ink flow.  Maybe with all the UC7 that has
been going through the nozzles UT7 might behave.

The ONLY thing about UT7 that bothered me was the
carts  in the middle of a print run just stop working.
 Sometimes letting them sit overnight would get them
going again.  

When a cart went low and needed to be replaced I could
never get a good nozzle check unless the printer sat
for hours.

All of the above gripes are with UT7 carts filled by
MIS, not me.

I don't get enough time to print as it si, I cant
spend it nursing ink carts.
