Centered images w/2200 + QTR

Centered images w/2200 + QTR

2007-01-21 by neilsphoto

Hi all

I noticed when I first read through the PDF that there was a feature
that let you select centered images in the paper size pull down. This
is supposed to be an improvement over the Epson center option that
really doesn't work too well.

That doesn't appear in my 2200 QTR menu. Should it? Or if it doesn't
on the 2200 for some reason I should just make a custome paper size
and border option I guess.

Thanks

Neil

I am using QTR with a 2200. The "Centered" option is a checkbox which
is in the "Placement" section right under the image preview. Works
fine here.

I know about that one but another better truly centered option is
mentioned in the PDF set of instructions.

I should I believe see a choice offered under the paper size menu for
centered that is above and beyond the Epson choice under the "print
with preview" window. Again this is mentioned in the PDF but maybe it
isn't offered when you use a 2200 but is when you use another printer.

Thanks

Neil,

The "Centered" paper options are for printers that have un-centered
printable
areas. The Pro printers all enforce a .55 inch bottom margin which
makes the
printable area un-centered. All the desktop printers such as the 2200
allow
a .125 inch bottom margin that is the same as the top. So for the
2200 all
the paper selections are already Centered.

There is one caveat: this small bottom margin needs an exit roller in
the printer
and the switch from entry roller to exit roller can give a reduction in
quality. So
I prefer to always give generous margins -- but the print centering is
nice.

The only reference to Centered in the User Guide is on page 8. It describes the
check box referenced below. At least on the PC, there is NO other option. Since
the parameter interface to the underlying software is identical on the MAC, I
doubt there is another version there either.
