New Premium Luster for 7600

New Premium Luster for 7600

2007-01-26 by sturos

Hi All,

am new to this group...and have a question regarding using Epson's new Premium Luster
Paper with QTR on a 7600. Why Epson replaced their previous premium luster with the new
one is beyond me...They do not provide a new profile with this paper, but instead ask that
you use their profile for Premium glossy paper.

In any event, I can not get a good print using QTR with this new paper, where I was getting
extraordinary black and white prints using the old premium luster.

Anyone out there with any experience/help with this??

Thanks

Stu Rosner

Hello All,

I've been using 2 7600 printers for a few years. With the Photo Black
printer I use almost exclusively Premium Luster. It would seem that
Epson is experiencing a HUGE state of flux lately. A few months ago
they introduced the "NEW" Premium Luster 260. With all my test images
I could find NO difference in printing procedure with the sheet paper.
However, when I started the first ROLL, I noticed that the
information sheet was rather conflicting. After reading it I was
almost afraid to start printing, thinking perhaps I'd have to
reprofile. Thankfully that was NOT the case. Again, NO difference
from the previous paper. Now comes the kicker. With the last batch
of sheet paper I received (various sizes), I noticed they have now
repackaged and reverted back to a 240 weight paper. Well, another
flavor again. But, not to fear. My test images again printed
identical to the previous incarnations of this widely used paper. Now
I do have to admit that I am not yet using QTR, although I will be
shortly. I use ONLY the Atkinson profiles and always have. They have
always served me very well and continue to do so. Therefore I can't
understand why QTR would produce different results on the new paper
when I am NOT experiencing any difference at all. I realize this
doesn't help your situation, but I simply wanted to let you know what
my experience has been with all of these papers. NOT A PROBLEM!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK
