Installing QTR on a Mac Pro

Installing QTR on a Mac Pro

2007-02-13 by mtiktinsky

This may sound very silly, but I just switched from a PC to a Mac Pro.
And, of course, I cannot find anything. I downloaded the newest
version of QTR and cannot for the life of me, after I hit the install
button, find where the program is. All I find is a subdirectory with
various icons in it but none get me to running QTR. Can someone point
me in the right direction please? Thanks.

There is no program. QTR is a printer driver. To see it, launch Printer Setup Utility, which is
in /applications/utilities.

If you installed it, you should be able to select it from the drop-down list of printers you'll
find in the printer dialog box, which you'll get when you choose "print" from the file menu
in almost every application.

hth... and welcome to the Mac.

Mike, I think that when you go to print your image from Photoshop,
Quadtonerip will show up as one of the printer choices in your printer
driver. If you select that printer, you'll get to the QTR interface.
An alternative, just to prove to yourself that it's installed, is to
go to your Applications folder, to the Utilities subfolder, and inside
that you'll find a "Printer Setup Utility." If you launch that, it
will show what printer drivers are installed in your system.

This may be what you are asking MIke.

If you want/need access to the various applications, Then when you
expand the dmg file to do the instal, you will have to Drag Copy that
expanded folder to your Apps Folder. This will leave a permanent
expanded copy of QTRip folder so you can access the Curves apps etc.

Is this what yo were after?

Thanks to one and all for all the information. I hope to be able to use it this afternoon when I finally get a chance to give it a try. Much appreciated.

Mike
