QuadTone 2.5 win

QuadTone 2.5 win

2007-03-12 by lindstromdick

Hi all

I installed QuadTone version 2.5 for windows, but did not find any
output curves at all after installation. What am I doing wrong?

You are doing nothing wrong. Now that the driver is installed you need
to go into the folder named CURVES, click on the folder that has the
name and inkset of the printer you are using, and it will
automatically install those curves. Without installing curves you will
not see your QTR printer settings in the Epson driver, much less see
the curves to select for output.

Well, that folder is not in my computer after installation. I have
tried to download the software twice, but no curves folder to be
found.

Assuming you did a standard Windows install, the QTRgui editable
profile files (.qdif) are in QuadToneRIP|Profiles. The inking
profiles/curves used by QTRgui to print (.quad) are in
QuadToneRIP|Quad.

The .gdif files are edited with QTRgui via Tools|Curve Creation

The .quad files are accessed in the Curves Setup portion of the QTRgui
window

Of course I meant to type .qidf. Also, both .qidf and .quad files can
be opened with a standard text editor if you are curious about the
internals.

I am very grateful for the help so far. But some strange things still
occur in 2,5. (Earlier version works fine - but I have a 3800 too ...)

When I start the program it gives this message "42519,6 is not a valid
integer value" and after that it resets the .ini-file to default.

When switching to the 3800printer the curves correctly shows "none"
since there are no curves for this printer yet.

When I switch to the 4000printer, QuadTone repeats the error
message "42519,6 is not a valid integer value". When I open the curve
tool it start by saying "ppd was not found"

(This is an installation on Windows XPpro)

Yes. Starts without problems now.
Looking forward to test some prints from QT with the 3800.

Thanks

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
