New User Problem

2007-03-20 by Douglas (Brian) Heller

I installed 2.5 on my IMac 800 MHZ Power PC running 10.4.9. I am
printing on an Epson R 1800. It installed with no problem but the
prints produced do not match the print preview. Specifically, I am
printing from Photoshop Elements 4.0 and I changed the image (TIFF
from Raw) to gray scale, choose QuadR1800-K7 in the printer set up,
choose QTR Gray Matte Paper in the printer profile and Perceptual in
the rendering intent and then send it off to the printer where I
choose QuadR-1800 K7. The printer then produces a colorful image that
looks like a 1960's rock poster. Sort of interesting, but not B/W.

The "K7" profiles are for the special B&W Piezo K7 inkset
(inkjetmall.com).
If you just have the Epson UltraChrome color inks use the QuadR1800
print model
which has profiles named "UC"

Thanks a lot. By the way I sent in my $50 (PayPal) yesterday, did you
receive this?
