I was never able to achieve good black and white results with any glossy papers from my 9600 and QTR. The color was always too brownish and the bronzing was really bad. And, I really wanted it to work this way out of qtr and greyscale. What I was able to do is use an RGB workflow without qtr and linearize using Print Fix Pro with the extened grey profiling process. It measures 720 color tones and then an additonal 240 "extended grey" patches to neutralize all the values. The final result was pretty nice, great dmax, and much more neutral and smooth compared to any greyscale workflow with the Epson K2 Ultrachromes and glossy media (K3 is a Totally different story and glossy papers function much much better all around). Even with the rgb process I still have to spray the prints with Premier Art spray to eliminate the remnants of gloss differential and bronzing of the shadows. There is a tiny bit of metamerism with using all the color inks too but with my profile it is very minimal. So, no, no good curve for that paper with qtr and the 9600. John --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "ctphoto1" <mark@...> wrote:

I am getting pretty good results using the Photo Rag settings and I am even using MK. The after spray is a must to get rid of the severe bronzing. Just thought someone might have something better already in the can. Mark

Your kidding, your using MK with glossy fiber? I'll certainly try it. It sure would be nice to avoid all the black changeover. Really.... john --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, Mark Savoia <mark@...> wrote:
