You can switch back and forth between the two as you see fit. Just because you install QTR doesn't mean you have to use it all the time (or any of the time for that matter).

As Brian as mentioned you can use either driver any time.
But if your issue is making B&W transparencies it's probably the 720dpi
which is giving the poor results.  You ought to use the highest
resolution of 2880dpi.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
