ugly, flat midtone greys

Epson7500, K6inks, WinXP. Nozzle check is OK. I had to format the
harddrive and reinstall everything. Since then, areas within a b/w
image that should have good tonal range and contrast are coming out as
large areas of flat, mid-tone grey. VERY BLAH! I was turning out
great prints. I've done a monitor calibration and am sure I've got
the QTR Gui set up properly. Using Hahnemuhle Rag paper so the
profile is already in the QTR. I've updated the version of QTR to the
latest. I ran another print of an image that was coming out great and
again the flat, ugly mid-grey areas of what should be contrasting grey
tones. Thanks for any help/suggestions. Pat

Use a loop on the prints and check for fine lines running across solid color
areas. Your nozzles might be mis-firing, but showing good nozzle check
output.
