EPSON 4800 AND GETTING STARTED

EPSON 4800 AND GETTING STARTED

2007-09-15 by Carl Quedenfeld

I am new to this group but need help. I have a Mac Pro Intel G5 and an Epson 4800. I
downloaded the Quad Rip software which I used at a workshop and now want to use it on my
system. Can anyone help me get started ? I installed the program and went into the profile
folder and found the Epson 4800 install but it says that I have firewire and I need USB. What
do I do ? I know it may seem like a dumb question but I am stuck and would appreciate any
help.
Thanks,
Carl Quedenfeld

Hi Carl,

You need to use the USB port rather than the firewire port. Unplug the firewire
and connect the USB cable. Then run Profiles/4800-7800-9800-UC/Install4800
This will create a printer called Quad4800 and install the profiles for it.
See Tutorial.pdf for more info about the selections in the Print dialog pages.

Thank you for your help. B&H failed to send a USB cord but I
purchased one and now I have the profiles installed.
