Anybody tried to profile Harman fiber with K6 sepia and 7000?

Anybody tried to profile Harman fiber with K6 sepia and 7000?

2007-11-02 by Sergey Zlotnikov

I got my pack of Harman FB Al and was very excited. Until I tried to
create a curve for it. First impression - My x-rite 810 reads 100%
black from QTR calibration printout at 2.42 vs. 1.89 on German Etching
paper. The bad news, my cyan patch shows more density after 70% than
black patch. Black shows more density before 70% mark. I am lost with
that one. I also have a cartridge of Museum Black, maybe I should try
to put that in and print. My previous custome curve creation for the
same ink on German etching went normal, ink maxed out at 55%, but with
Harman, I can clearly see ink not maxing till 65 - 70%
Any Ideas or experience?
Thank you,
sergey Zlotnikov

high pigment load inks designed for coated matte surfaces are not
going to work on a glossy surface. You'll beed a PK system for that paper.

The Harman paper takes a photo black ink not a matte ink. The current K6 inks
aren't compatible. They have some new inks that will work.

Thank you for the reply. Do you know of the type of Cone ink that
would be compatible with Harman paper and run on 7000 or 4800?

Thank you again,

They have recently inroduced some Selenium toned K7 inks - I think they call
them "MPS" - which will, with the addition of a gloss enhancer, work with
gloss and semi-gloss papers. They haven't released the gloss enhancer yet
though and I doubt whether the full set will be made available for the
7000 - that may change however with Epson recent actions which may make the
older printers more sought after. I believe that other shades are due to
follow after the selenium. Why not check with InkjetMall?
