Eye-One Linearized Epson 3800 Curves for Harman Gloss FB AI (Baryta) Paper

Eye-One Linearized Epson 3800 Curves for Harman Gloss FB AI (Baryta) Paper

2007-12-09 by Leping Zha

I posted the QTR curves I made for Epson 3800 with the new Harman Gloss FB AI ("Real
Photo Baryta with Alumina for Air Dried Gloss Prints") paper, along with Richard Lohman's
Split-Toning Curve Blending Formula. The curves are linearized with a newly calibrated
Eye-One spectrometer, resulted in excellent printing linearity.

Very important: Please read the followings before downloading and using:

1. The Curve Blend Formula screenshot was made before I made the Harman Gloss specific
curves and linearized them, so you need to use these for Harman Gloss curves, instead of
Roy's Ilford Smooth Pearl Curves on the screen shot.

2. The Curves were linearized without the -10 Gamma adjustment, so when using my
Harman Gloss Curves, don't apply the -10 Gamma adjustment.

However, if you would like to try out the Ilford Smoth Pearl Curves for the Harman Gloss
paper you should use the -10 Gamma change illustrated in the screenshot. The results
are OK but the linearities are not as good as the new ones.

3. On the other screenshot, since you are converting from whatever your working color
space to Roy's QTR Photo Paper, both Gamma 1.8 and Gamma 2.2 profiled images, among
the others, can be used the same way.

Anyone tried out these curves and possibly give me some feedback? They work
wonderfully for me.

Thanks,
Leping
