QTR and Epson SP 1200

2008-01-18 by frankbickelmeyer

Hello,
my name is Frank, coming from Germany and i am new here. I am very
interested in B&W fineart printing with the Quadtonerip.

I have a question related to the QuadTone RIP. My Printer is the Epson
SP 1200. I use TritonPlus neutral grey and black ink from Europeanink.
Paper: Calumets Brilliant Museum silver gloss (it is semigloss like the
Hahnemhle Photorag Pearl). What would you suggest: which settings
should i use in QTR? (Paper Type, Printing Model, Curves etc.) I know
the 1200 ist not supported but should i use settings for the Epson SP
1270 for example? I want to try out QTR but i need a little help to
begin and start with some suitable settings for my situation.

Thank you very much in advance,

Frank

Since i have had some free time these days i came to a fitting
workaround by myself: when listing the 1200 as a 1270 printer in the
printer options it is now possible to select the 1200 in QTR but it
is now called 1270 of course. Using the UT-Photorag carbon 1 curve
and inklimit +10 with the TritonPlus-ink on Calumet fineart paper
gives wonderful results! No broncing, perfekt grayscale, very nice!
