I see for the 7800 there is a setting called 1440 super as well as 1440 dpi. Is this 1440x1440? I have that available in StudioPrint and have been wondering if I can access it in QTR. Thanks, Tyler

Hi Tyler, The 1440super is 1440x720 with an 8-pass weave method rather than the standard 4-pass. So no it's not 1440x1440. The Epson docs are kind of wishy-washy about 1440x1440: These two modes are available for screen dot simulation. However these modes are not supported by the driver due to not enough evaluation has been performed. We request you to evaluate on your own for applying these modes. When printing with mode, it is necessary to print by Uni-D. You cannot obtain accuracy by Bi-D. Therefore I didn't enable that option. Can you see a noticeable difference using this? It's a possibility to add this in the future is it really shows an improvement. BTW, someone recently emailed my with the info that StudioPrint is not going to support the x880 printers or any other new Epsons. Is that really true? Hi Roy, the word I have is that Epson would not give them code to support the x880s unless they dropped K7 support. So, they are doing what they can to keep their ink monopoly in place. This means applying what pressure they can on vendors/partners. Ergosoft of course went with them. So, for K7 support it's Epsons up to the x800 series only. Supposedly K7 support will remain in place for these Epsons even in new SP versions, we'll see. 1440x1440 may only be useful with other controls for dot usage. I have made good use of it here with otherwise abnormal settings for specific purposes. It would probably be more trouble than it's worth frankly. Mostly, I was curious what the "super" meant and thought that might be it. Gotta stay alert as the available options for us niche folks become a more rapidly moving target.
