Drop-Quad-Profile usage

Drop-Quad-Profile usage

2008-05-01 by John Barnes

On page 4 of the Eye-One-ReadMe.pdf document there is a reference to
"re-process the ink file with Drop-Quad--Profile..."

The end of the file that I get from the QTR-Linearize-Data is shown here:

LINEARIZE="93.86 88.79 83.77 79.02 73.56 68.88 63.38 57.79 54.43 51.45
47.85 44.5 41.52 38.82 36.27 33.55 31.13 27.29 22.99 18.5 15.54"

I assumed that the ink file that I wanted to modify was
UC_EEnhMatte-black.txt

I noted that the last lines of that file had the grey values in
density units rather than percentage values. I went ahead in replaced
those lines with my linearization values. When I dropped the madified
files onto the Drop-Quad-Profile droplet I got the message

"line 17:line 17: quadprofile: command not found"

Where do I go from here?

Another and just as easy way to process profiles is to create a folder
with an installation script -- see Profiles/InstallScripts/ -- just copy a
script of the correct name to the folder. Then put your .txt inkfile descriptor
file in the same folder. Run the install script and it will process all the
.txt files in the same folder.

hello

both of this methodes don't work on my system. when trying it with
"installation script", this installs the common, already installed
profiles, not the new ones e.g. those in the new folder.

i'd rather like to use the Drop-Quad-Profile.however i get the same
result as John Barnes.
thanks for your help.

finally i found this message from the terminal:
"Creating curve UC-fa-warm-cf
Invalid linearize curve -- not constantly increasing"

"not constantly increasing" is at the black end of the wedge. because
there is to much ink! (epson 2100; hahnemühle photorag). and that's
why i thought,. i should linearize.

i hope, my questions are not to silly... i'm a beginner with measuring
tools as well as a posting being.

I was also getting the "quadprofile: command not found" error message
in QTRip 2.6.1 for OSX. I corrected it by updating the following line
in file Drop-Quad-Profile.app/Contents/Resources/script:

Replace:
quadprofile "$1" >"$TEMP" 2>&1

With:
/Library/Printers/QTR/bin/quadprofile "$1" >"$TEMP" 2>&1

and that should do it.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
