You guys broke me

You guys broke me

2008-08-20 by linuxgangster

After seeing the refurbished r1400 for $179 with free shipping I gave in.

So, I am going to put my extra r1800 up for sale in a day or two. Now
I need to decide between UT14 and EB6

If anyone is interested its a r1800 with minimal use Went through one
set of inks. I have only used original Epson inks in this unit. I have
the original box, cables etc...make me a decent offer and its yours.
If not it goes up on ebay.

Sheesh, I think they're down to $143... just checked the Epson site
and they are offering a $35 rebate! Gets even more tempting.

Well, I had just purchased an 1800 in early summer, with many good
reviews, when the 1400 came out. But: 1) the 1800 uses empty carts
more readily available, 2) it doesn't have the some say problematic
auto-reset carts, and 3) it doesn't use dye inks.

Trying to make myself feel better, I know... but I think there's some
truth to what I say about the 1800. Oh, and it also has rear-loading
for heavy stock, if that's an issue for you.

Not quite ready to jump ship here, but I do hear what you are saying!

Paul

YUp, I got my refurbed r1400 for $143 with free shipping.

I have 2 r1800's, and I will continue to use one of them for color
prints because it does a amazing job! But for b&w It was hard to pass
up the r1400 :)

What's your black and white setup for the 1400 (or maybe it hasn't
arrived yet)? Going the single BO cartridge route, or Eboni-6 with the
various shades of gray, or...?

I am actually going to give the UT14 a try first, then give the
Eboni-6 a shot. I may even buy another R1400 just for each since they
are so cheap.

The reason behind this is Glossy, Luster and baryta type papers and
the UT14's ability to print on them. Most of my prints are things like
weddings, engagements and whatnot. And I would say the majority of the
time they pick one of those 3 papers. They rarely pick matte type
paper. My own personal landscape and wildlife photography will use
Matte style papers tho. I personally cannot stand Glossy style papers.
