Epson 1400 and CIS or Refillable Carts

Epson 1400 and CIS or Refillable Carts

2008-08-26 by pixelphoto2005

Hello!
I just received my Epson 1400 and am trying to decide which way to go-CIS or refillable
carts. I already have a CIS on my 1280 (getting old) and am refilling my 4000 carts with MIS
ink (using more ink to clean than to print). I would like to print BW and color on the 1400. If I
set it up to print BO (Eboni) and used refillable carts with MIS dye ink for the remaining carts,
would this be feasible? Some thoughts please.

FYI: superjetusa.com seems to have a very inexpensive CIS with auto reset chips for $49.00!
It appears to be well made.

Regards, Marvin

Just a quick chime in here, cheap is the exact way you want to go when
getting a CIS. Those cheap units all come from China and are of very
low quality. You will be fighting them constantly. Trust me on that.

Ink republic makes a good unit and its made in the US from what I
heard. There is nothing wrong with China, just the quality of "cheap"
goods is not worth it.

I have tried about 3 cis's from various vendors. The inkjetfly . com
is your best bet on the cheaper side. Leo has great support and will
do everything he can to make you happy.

The ink republic cis is in a league of its own.
