Using Quadtone Rip on Mac's

Using Quadtone Rip on Mac's

2009-02-10 by cstrobach16

I can't seem to get the Quadtone Rip to show up in my printer window
after using Photoshop. Was wondering what I need to do to fix this
problem?

Thanks

To install the QTR as a printer, go to the QTR installation directory
(most likely /Applications/QuadToneRIP/)

From there, open the Profiles folder, then open the folder that
corisponds to your specific printer model. Make sure that your
printer is connected to the computer(USB only: firewire will not
work), as well as on.

Finally, run the "Install_ _ _ _.command", where the blank is filled
in with the printer model you're using. This should automatically run
a script and install the printer to be used from there on out.

Hope this helped,
Michael

I have just upgraded to v2.6.2 - K6 inks...
I am using an Epson 1280.
I have run the script (Install1280.command - said it was successful) and have the printer
installed, but when I go to settings and the 'Quad-Tone Rip' settings, nothing is showing up
in my Curves selection drop downs.

I have not had this issue prior to uninstalling old version and installing version 2.6.2.
Why? and can I manually put the proper files somewhere?
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

Try to rerun both the 'InstallScripts" command from the 'Profiles' folder,
andthe Install-1280 K6.command inside of the 890-1280-1290-K6 folder
if you haven't already installed both. I think it takes both.

Afterwards take a look in:

Library- Printers - QTR - Quadtone - Quad1280-K6 to see if your
profiles are there with the .quad suffix. You can also check the graphs for
the profiles once once you find them. If not check carefully each step
along the way.

There is also the part of selecting the right printer (could be 1280-K6 ?)
in PS during configuration at the print time. No idea if this helps,
but it's what I do and it almost always works on my Mac 10.5
Leopoard and QTR v2.6.2.

If still at a block, QTR has a pretty nice forum at Yahoo that is immensely helpful.

Jerry

Thanks! I had figured it out. I was running the script from the wrong location.
Once I moved it - then ran it, my profiles showed up as expected.
Thanks,
Steve

I'm having the same issue. Can you please post the correct location for running the scripts.

Thanks
