rib or blind effect when printing

This just started to happen. When I print in a warm tone I get a quarter inch ribbing effect in medium gray areas. I have reveresed the print to make sure it is not the printer. I have done a reinstall and yet when I go to the warm tone the blinding shows up again. This is on a 7600 usuing MacG4 10.3.9
