QTR Does Not Work With Vista 64bit

QTR Does Not Work With Vista 64bit

2009-07-02 by Rod Klein

I have made this post before. The response was "well it should work",
However, after numerous tries, QTR will not work with my 65bit Vista system. It does install but the full interface does not show up when the program is opened. It does not recognize my Epson 7600.

Since 64bit Windows systems are being more common due to the unlimited available RAM, I would think that the developers of QTR should update the program.

My temporary solution: I also have a XP system and have networked my 7600 so I can print from PS using QTR from the XP system.

How about an upgrade??

Well, I have no access to a 65bit[sic] Vista system. Other users have
stated that the software does work, though.

So, if you feel strongly about this, how about funding two things for me. 1.
a 64 bit system with Windows Vista Ultimate. 2. An upgrade to the
Codebuilder Delphi package that supports same.

Short of these, guess you will have to live with your temporary solution.

I've been running QTRgui on 2 different Vista64 machines since last fall.
No problems. Works like a charm. I occasionally get a weird raster program
failure message, or something like that, but it has no effect on the
function of the program.

I can't explain what's wrong, but I have been using QTR on Vista 64 with a 9600 (and other printers) for well over a year. I does work fine.
I assume you've tried reinstalling it. Also, do you have the latest updates for Vista 64? Although mine worked fine right after installing over a year ago.

That error appears to come at the end of the processing. Might be a clean up issue. But, doesn't affect the print. Maybe Roy can comment next week.

and one more data point: QTR and QTRGui are working fine on my 64-bit Windows 7 RC (Epson R1800, Piezography K7 SE).

Microsoft wants you to believe that Windows 7 is entirely different from
Vista, but it is not. It remains to be seen just how compatible (or
contemptible) Windows 7 will be.
