QTR and a densitometer?

QTR and a densitometer?

2010-04-03 by William

Hi all, quick question:

I'm a long time IJC/OPM user, but I'm getting the feeling they aren't going to be supporting future Epson printers (and I'd like to print directly from apps like InDesign). Is it reasonably easy to linearize an existing QTR profile with a densitometer? Or do I need to get a spectrophotometer?

Thanks!

Jon

Hello Jon,

I have linearized with a Heiland PM-Densitometer in the past with good results. With my unit, I recorded the density numbers of 21 step, and input the numbers manually into the QTR Linearization tab. Works just fine.

Good luck.

Hi Shilesh,

Thank you for the response! I'm on a Mac (and I'm assuming your are in Windows), so I should just be able to paste in the LINEARIZE="..." data into the bottom of the profile file?

Thanks!

Jon

Yes Jon, I am on PC. Sorry I am not much help with Mac. But what you describe sounds familiar to me from early days when the PC version did not have a GUI.
