QTR-Quadtone RIP

Unlike the shown example in quadtone rip's user guide my print-out of inkseparation.tif in calibration mode is completely grayscaled and does not show the original colors of epson 2880's eight inks. Do I (understand) anything wrong? Thanks for any hint or help!
