Epson 1400 "banding" with UT-14 and QTR

Help! I'm getting banding on IlfordGFS in black areas.When I'm printing images without big black areas results are great.Nozzle check is OK, but have problem with printhead alignment, always getting gaps. Is my printer head damaged? thanks Marcin
