PPD file

2011-01-15 by Joel

Hello, I'm running OS 10.6.5, current QTR.
My question is this. I've just added the linerazation line at the bottom of my ink sep file and dropped it into 'Drop Quad Curve'. A message stated that it 'could not find PPD file for Quad 7800'. Where would I find the PPD file (and what is it?) in order to have another curve created?
Thank you
Joel

My question is this. I've just added the linerazation line at the bottom of my ink sep file and dropped it into 'Drop Quad Curve'. A dialogue box popped up stating that it 'could not find PPD file for Quad 7800'. Where would I find the PPD file (and what is it?) in order to have another curve created?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Joel

HI Joel,

The drop script expects the printer with the right name to already
exist -- PPD file is that
printer descriptor file. The install scripts such as
Install7800.command are an easier
way to do what you want. They create the printer if necessary as
well as process
and install the profiles.

Make a folder with a copy of Install7800.command (option-drag)
and your profile .txt file. Then just double-click the script.
