QTR-Quadtone RIP

Following this with interest - just a thought - I work dual platform with QTR and have been for a number of years - (School equipment is all Windows, at home it's all MAC)- and to be honest QTR is much easier to manage in Windows - not printing out of Photoshop is at worst a minor annoyance - and managing profiles is really a lot easier - Is there any chance that -given the rather sorry history of difficulties with QTR and the on going MAC OS/Adobe/Epson situation, the workflow for the MAC could be changed to one that is similar to the Windows ie- Opening QTR as a separate entity - and thus avoiding having to bring all of these factors in line?

When I used QTR on Windows to drive a custom quad set Epson 9000 (and 
that has been some time ago) I always wished it could be used as a 
normal Windows printer driver for Qimage. I can understand that it may 
be a good idea on a Mac to have it separated from Photoshop though.
