I currently have some Entrada Natural and I downloaded the curves but does anyone have R200 curves for the Entrada Bright with Media Street's Quad Black inkset? I've been thinking og getting some Entrada Bright but I do not having a densitometer. Thanks, Bill Karoly

I designed the QuadBlack ink set and developed the curves you have. For the Entrada I only did the natural, not the Bright. But since the only difference is the addition of the white brightener, I think you may find the Natural curve will work ok. Unfortunately, Roy Harrington's curve generating tools don't work with the QuadBlack ink set; our ink set uses multiple channels with its cool and warm inks to do some very sophisticated b&w balancing, and Roy's tools can't generate our curves. So I had to build my own tools, but they are VERY user-unfriendly and I'm only tolerating them myself. So even a densitometer probably wouldn't make it straightforward for you to make a curve directly for Entrada Bright. best, Richard Wolfson Fine Art Photographer, Printmaker & Digital Imaging Consultant

Richard Might there be any "baseline" settings or profiles or whatever else I would need to get my R200, GQ Quad inks, and Entrada Natural producing even straight forward B&W images? Yesterday, my test print showed only grays, with no tone range at all. It looked more like a fax from many years ago, no blacks and no tone range, totally flat. In the QTR "Curves Creator" screen it is set to printing model "QuadR200-GQ", Other settings are: Paper "Matte", Under "Curves" R220 Neutral with a blend of 50%. Resolution 2880dpi, Dither "Adaptive", Shadows and mid-tones both set in the middle at "0" Can anyone tell me what I might change or where I could find the "curves" or "profiles" for the R200, GQ Quad inks entrada or a similar paper just to even establish a best baseline for this ink set and printer combination to get things moving. Sorry, but it has been a while. --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "Richard Wolfson" <rw@...> wrote: > > I designed the QuadBlack ink set and developed the curves you have. > > For the Entrada I only did the natural, not the Bright.
