I have a site of Digital Negatives in Japan. EPSON stylus 2880 Banding Problem has been reported by some persons. A problem arises at the top end and bottom end of a paper. It is a print result. http://www.digital-negatives.jp/TEST/QTR_PX-5600_plobrem.jpg Aren't there any good solutions? http://www.digital-negatives.jp/blog/?p=786 Regards http://www.digital-negatives.jp info@... I have just purchased an Epson R2880 and noticed the same problem of banding at the head and bottom of the printed page. It is not really banding, but it seems like the full density is not printing at the beginning of the page (close to the edge) and is decreasing again at the very end of the page (more or less 1 inch not printing with the rigth density - top and bottom). I also have an Epson 3800 and this issue never occured, even at 1/8 inch from the edge. ? Sidney --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "kumagaikentaro" <homepage@...> wrote:

On many Epson printers both of the feed rollers need to be engaged for best printing. The distance between the first feed roller and the exit roller will give you the amount of top and bottom margins you need for top quality. Hi Sidney and Paul I thinks the bug of software. Because Epson driver can be printed with No border. This problem has arisen only in a new printer. (R3000 too) http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/QuadtoneRIP/message/10261 Regards http://www.digital-negatives.jp/ info@... The Epson approach hides the paper transport inaccuracies better on at least several printers I've had. The top & bottom microbanding happens when only one paper transport roller is engaged. So, I often use wider margins top and bottom to avoid the issue. I might add that, outside of image edges that are too close to the top and bottom of the paper, QTR produces smoother prints than the Epson driver in a number of printer-inkset combinations I use that are compatible with both approaches.
