Osc tuning & power supply..?

Osc tuning & power supply..?

2008-05-16 by rabbitfoot88

Excuse my lack of technical knowledge (musician rather than technician) but can anyone
explain to me why my oscillators track & tune nicely in one of my 191j's but not if I move
those modules to another 191j?

In the second 191j as you change the footage on the oscillators it doesn't track equally up
the octaves (i.e. sounds out of tune).

At first I thought the oscillators must need re-calibrating, but then I checked them by
moving them to the other cabinet an they work fine in that one...??

Unfortunately the cabinet where they track nicely in tune has an awful hum/buzz from the
power supply - hence my wanting to use the other one.

Hi,

The problem is that the power supply in one of your racks is out of
calibration or may even have a fault. Are you able to measure the
power supply output voltages? A reasonable quality digital
multimeter is required not a cheap analogue meter to set the
supplies accurately. Let me know if you can do the measurement and
adjustments/repairs and I'll send you the details on how to go about
it. I'm in Portsmouth UK if you need some hands on help else you
might have to pay a local techy to do the work.

Hope this helps
Tony

there´s a trimpot on the psu board that sets the +/- 15 v,
or else the psu may need a recapping :
