Thanks John,

for this recommendations. You just shattered my firm believings that I
need an VCFS. That was just what I needed :-)

So perhaps you can help me to sort this out:

- One the one hand I want to add the filter which sonic character is as
far away from the VCFX as possible.

- On the other hand, I want to use the second filter to establish a
second (VCO-VCM-VCF-VCA) voice path in my small system, if I feel like
it.

Which filter is better for these tasks? The VCFS or the VCF2?

I know that the differences between the different Serge filters have
been covered some time back ago on this list, and can be found in the
archives. However, I couldn't find an answer to these questions:

- Did anyone try to make the VCF2 resonant by patching a feedback? How
did it sound?

- Are there any sound files available that demonstrate the effect of
the variable slope of the VCFS on a sawtooth?

Ah…finally: The RES…I have 2 filterbanks at home, the MAM VF11 (yeah,
it is a vocoder, but can be used as a filterbank and an excellent
frequency-selective distortion) and a SND FB-14 (totally different
sound than the FB-14, cleaner, no complete attenuation [sad], very
heavy distortion possible [great], but sounds more valvy than the MAM,
which is very transistor-like, http://www.s-n-d.com/fb14e.html).

I thought adding the RES would be a nice complement to this by offering
a (hopefully) different flavor with its possibility to set some band to
become resonant. Some questions: How high is this resonance, I guess it
will not go into self-oscillation, right? And how big is the possible
attenuation? Is it possible to remove a band completely?

Thanks in advance,
best regards,
Jan-Hinnerk
