After I got back into this whole thing, it was a spell of time after that I
realized I was going to start writing again and I really looked into which
of the many Mac-based digital audio packages were best and at the time,
almost everyone I spoke to you, both store people and trusted individuals
opened their reply with 'If you can't swing the cost Digital Performer, then
get (insert name of other here)'
So, I got DP.
It's fine, although it does pester me that most of the plug-ins are for
Cubase and Pro Tools. I tried Cubase first, I was even able to score a
practically free purchase due to the fact that I was working in the audio
biz at the time (speaker company) and it gave me a headache - way too much
eye candy for my tastes - too much detail in their interface. Not so much
it's functionality, but the design of the graphics.
But as far as plug-ins, while I'm not really all that addicted to them, I do
use the Pluggo set and a freeware reverb I think it terrific called
Pianoverb, which gives the effect basically of using the strings of a piano
as a reverb resonator. very cool.
hope this helps,
P
