Regarding bug music, check out the demos by Scott Juskiw here:

Self running patches that evolve on their own.. this is how I define
bug music. R. Rich's Bestiary (I love the album) was multitracked
and to me putting this much thought and time into a polished piece
excludes it from the bug music category. Make some bugs (simple
voices) let 'em loose!
The "Not very good Jazz musicians" demo cracks me up every time!!
