Re: Re-revised panels posted..

Chris makes a very good point about the BLOG. If you have more than one sequencer or seq/pro, you should get a BLOG and for that reason ( among others ) his endorsement of a shop panel with a BLOG should be taken seriously.I have one and it always seems to get a serious workout no matter what i'm doing. The Matrix mixer with two DCSMs is a killer. For my own taste i's add two QUOs and two XFAD and you would be falling down from audio vertigo. I just sold a panel very much like this, only it had a QVM instead of two DCSMs. And yes, i'm still kicking myself but i needed the cash.

kind regards

While I highly recommend the QUO (quadrature osc, Peter) I agree
that you should add at least one Precision VCO to complement the
NTO, even though you have the two ASM oscillators.

As for mixers, here's an option that I think would offer you great
flexibility and even allow for "manual" quad mixing on occasion: get
a Matrix Mixer (4x4) and two Dual Channel Stereo Mixers. This would
take up the same ten spaces you currently have allocated to output
mixing, but you could also use one or more of the mixers intra-patch
instead of at the output stage. (Add another DCSM or UAP and you
could actually achieve VC quad "panning.") Don't forget that you
also have the 2 VCAs on the ASM panel.

As someone who owns a 5 panel (including TKB) system, I also want to
point out that you can get a lot of mileage within a complex patch
from routing one or two DTG/DSG/SSG module outputs to a variety of
destinations, so (as Scott suggested) you can probably lose a CV
source or two in exchange for audio modules that will offer you a
wider sonic palette (another vote for the Frequency Shifter here) or
save you frustration down the road (audio/cv mixers).

Finally, if you closely review your latest revision, this system
includes all of the Sequencer shop panel modules except for the
Boolean Logic. In my view, if you decide to keep both sequencers in
addition to the TKB I would recommend getting the shop panel for
three reasons: 1) it should maintain a higher resale value, 2) the
layout of this shop panel makes a lot of sense, and 3) as you begin
using multiple sequencers you will quickly come to appreciate having
the BLOG. Perhaps other BLOG owners will chime in here?

I will e-mail you separately with a few specific layout suggestions.

Best wishes,

Chris Sawyer
