Johns post is a great example of the wide range of differing opinions you would receive if even half the owners of systems would bother to chime in on this thread. I have great respect for John and his music of which i have a bunch. Very cool stuff. But i differ with his opinion as laid out below. DSGs can be used as ADSRs but a Serge ADSR has nuances that a DSG can't match. And then again, you can go for a Cynthia ADSR which is an entirely different animal and very cool in it's own right. John makes great music without a traditional ADSR . . . but he has a clear vision of what it is he's tring to do, as evidenced by his CDs
I still disagree on the mixer thingy. If you don't have at least one MIX2 in that layout of yours , your just shooting yourself in the foot. But that
's just my opinion.
A sequencer programer is a nifty little thing to have as long as you have the attendant NCOM and COM and RNVs to go with it. For my money, not having a sequencer is of little consequence unless you need that type of running stuff going on underneath or if it plays a central part in what your trying to do. That said, having a TKB is just toooooo much fun. Or if you a sequencer junkie, there are lots of options. I just don't find them that necessary.

ADSR's, not really. Like Peter says, you can go a long way with DTG's
and DSG's. I have no ADSR's in my system.

As for the mixers, I thought you were OK on that count. Since you're
probably moving the CM to next to the FS, that will free up 1 space.
You could stick a skinny mixer in there.

I would also think about a dual comparator.

Also, I take it you're triggering/sequencing this thing externally? I
note no sequencers or TKB's anywhere....
