HI all
The reason why I was asking is that I am sure all of you have just more
than the Serge System.
The reason why I am looking at Plan B for example is that I will never
be able to afford a Buchla and their models like the VCO is designed
very closely to the Buchla sound which I love ( Subotnick etc), so I am
looking at trying to get Euroracks models that have Buchlaish extras
that the Serge does not have, just to funk it up a bit.
Of course I am not comparing Doepfer to the mighty Serge, but I do have
a cracklebox and a Serge, is that OK with you all ?
I have thought about getting a Midi CV converter to use with my Edirol
controller ( that I haven't used for ages) as I am into more
experimental music, I am constantly changing my mind about whether I
need a standard keyboard...
And lastly its a modular synth we are talking about, its hard not to get
turned on by new models :-)

Stick with banana based stuff if you can, it makes integration way easier. Consider Modcan stuff as a nice alternative. There are some nice filters, the LPG's from Cynthia, and Bruce is working on an Audio/CV sampler that sounds like it's going to be awesome. The plan B stuff seems cool, but I'd inquire about having them deliver it in Serge or Modcan format. You may also want to consider the always cool but often overpriced Fenix.
For something quite different but cool you may want to consider a polysynth if you don't already have one, something like Sunsyn or Omega 8.
Don't get a Kyma.
