Re: zeroscillator?

2006-08-10 by sydilaxe

Several things make it a unique centerpiece of any modular setup.
First, it is a through-zero FM oscillator which means that it goes
into negative frequencies when patched appropriately. It is a pretty
darn stable oscillator. Second, in addition to standard oscillator
outs (pulse, saw, sine, etc), it has four quadrature outputs. There
is control over the quadrature morphase as well as the waveshape of
these outputs. Third, there is an insane variety of CV control over
this thing (including sync and time reversal). The sounds that it
produces are truly wild and unlike any other analog sound source that
I have heard.

Is it worth $700? Well, I consider it to have nearly three times the
versatility of an NTO (minus the portamento). You can get sounds out
of it that sound processed (through filters or a phaser) without using
anything other than a second oscillator, EG, and a VCA. I, for one,
am a HUGE fan of the module.
