Most people posting in this group don't have the legal position to
persue the IP (intelectual property) disputes. Only those who
actually are stake holders in this IP arena have that right. These
designs and technologies may not be patentable, as they are probably
public domain circuit design technology. The designers of these
modules may have original concepts, but if they aren't protected by
US patents, then imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

personally to this post because you otherwise wouldn't receive it.

If I were the proprietors of STS,Modcan,etc., I would not be ammused
by the suppositions, threats, rants etc. I'd get as far away from
this group as possible (my plan too!!). I wouldn't want the name of
my business dragged thru the speculative mud.

the proprietors *are* somewhat interested; i will be posting a message from Modcan's Bruce
Duncan tonight which i feel is worth a read. feel free to resubscribe if you'd like to read it.

I agree that exploring the different types of designs and the
history/origins of them IS VERY INTERESTING, and may guide you in
selecting which modular manufacturer to purchase. Beyond that, making
claims of who is best etc is the worst of internet/human nature.

I hope this group survives this type of discussion and rises above it
to pursue more technical and beneficial topics. This group could be a
great resource to a broad community of modular users, but it will
probably fail to attract a large membership if the quality of the
discussions do not improve.

large membership? that's certainly not the point. but i'm sorry to see you go before you
personally had the chance to "improve our discussions": a list like this is only as good as its
members. since you're above the "worst of internet/human nature", again, too bad you left
the rest of us wallowing in the mud.

Some of this has been great, especially the patch/modual tutorials,
with sound file examples. Keep up the good work, if you can.
