Re: my first post

2009-04-06 by Dave Leith

Hi Chris and Richard

I'm also in Vancouver. I don't own a Serge but I am building a few older Serge circuits that one sees on the web (Synapse magazine). Chris, I had a quick peek at your blog earlier today. Some interesting projects.

As for the secret society of modular synth there are a few others on the SDIY list who are also in Vancouver or Victoria.
Synth-diy mailing list Synth-diy@... http://dropmix.xs4all.nl/mailman/listinfo/synth-diy

There is also a small groupin Vancouver who meet on a random basis to discuss building stuff. I can forward the email adress if you are interested.

Some music/sounds and some of my modular project are at http://minimalist.davidleith.com/DeitzModSynth2.html
One of the "quasi" bands that I play with is Spectrum Interview http://spectruminterview.com/index.html

If you feel the need to jam or just compare synth knobs, dials and sounds let me know.

Dave

Thanks Richard,

are you in Van too then?

There seems to be a small but impenetrable SDIY community in town and that's about it it would seem I love this city but as far as electronic music goes it sucks.

Hi Chris,

I have just joined this group. Nice to see someone from Vancouver here. I moved here from the UK in 2007.

I have just go into modulars myself, having just about filled 4 rows of Eurorack in the last 4 months.

I have just started exploring Serge with the idea of getting a very basic system together by the end of the summer.

Good luck
Richard
