I've always been a little dissappointed that there arent more vactrols in Serge. Could this be a result of it's days as a kit-built system, or is there more to it?

The only Serge modules with vactrols in are the phasers.
Curiously, there was a non-vactrol phaser design in one of Serges'
patents, but I don't think it ever got used in any Serge modules.
The patent included details of the "Rainmaker", so maybe he
planned to use it in that?
