Re: PWM / clock

2008-09-12 by matthew carpenter

Thanks, John! I hadn't thought of using the bottom section of the VCM or the SSGs CUPL output. I've tried doing this with the VC Clock and DTG (I have one with rise/both/fall switch) but in all cases, it seems like I'm modulating the frequency, and not the duty-cycle, or if I am

Any comparator will do it, not just ncom. Also the DSG and some of its cousins, setting the VC switch to RISE or FALL will modulate the duty cycle of the GATE pulse wave. OUT 2 of the VCM bottom section delivers pulse waves that can be modulated by VC or the knob. And the SSG CUP

Eh, ok, maybe I should've had this brainstorm before I posted! I just found another way -- by adding a slight DC offset to the NTO Variable Wave Out with a processor such as the lower half of an ACPR (1 o'clock), I get a pulse capable of clocking a sequencer. On 9/11/08, Matt Car

Hi, What are some ways to achieve pulse-width modulation that results in a signal able to act as a clock? I know I can use an NTO to get a nice pwm sound and an NCOM to get a clock with variable pulse-width -- is there anything else? Thanks, Matt
