how do i ground a two panel system with a 2 panel PS? isn't there a
cable with a banana at one end and a ring at the other? what if i
don't have this? will a banana with one end stripped off do? where
does the bare part go if the banana goes into the PS? attach it to a
panel?

thanks!

ground the power supply to your mixer or whatever else you may be useing to record with or do a ground to earth. Just use the banana cable and jack into the back of the PS and use a spade lug adaptor, or just strip the other end and ground it to some convenient place on your mixer. Worked for me, but there are many ways to do it and i'm sure everyone here will have a dfferent take.

Has anyone got a photo of the power cord for the Serge? Is it a
    universal switch?

    Hi all

Well after months of research, I have just bought my first Serge System
5 panels from Analogue Haven, I have only gone by the picture as I live
in Australia, and dealings with Shawn and Chuck, so I pray its all
working fine and not scratched up etc.

I am really excited as I have just moved into a new home and finally
have a room to play in :-) and hopefully a great Modular synth....I have
no idea if i will need to get the power converted to Aussie power 240v I
    think we are?

Oh and I havent told the wife either so shhhhh :-)

    Hi

The panels are Blue Fun plus sequencer and Soup 2 I think.

Can someone please confirm about the power for the Serge...

Does it have a power switcher 115v - 240 v? does it use an IEC plug?

    Cheers

No IEC plug and no switch for 200-240V on the Serge Power Supplies that I
    have, vintage 1994 and 2002.

So where do you guys buy your banana jacks?

    2006-04-11 by Tim J

    Hi List...

I'm new to the serge world...just picked up my first panal and I need to
make some more cables. Where do you guys buy your male stackable banana
    jacks?

Do you guys just go through mouser? Anyone know a good deal? (I would also
be open to premade cables if they were cheap enough...)

    Thanks,
    Tim

I've always gotten mine thru Rex.

if you don't want to spend any money you can pick up some banana plugs
at radio shack & some wire & make them yourself.

Good Pomona (nearly indestructable) banana cables available thru a
variety of outlets (Rex, Cynthia, ??) but they're not cheep.

Where do you get your custyom 1/4 to banana and 1/8 to banana?
I could sure use some more, and I could see investing in some gear
that would require even more... That new Modcan sequencer/clock/
quantizer set looks very tempting ;-)

        DTG v/oct input?

        2006-04-28 by Tim J

        Hi,

Anyone know if a DTG can be modified to have a 1 v/octave inputs?

        Thanks,
        Tim

        Re: DTG v/oct input?

        2006-04-29 by Scott E.

        Hi Tim,

I am no where near an expert on the Serge system, but my understanding
is that the DTG uses the same printed circuit board as the DSG. So the
connection should be available. The only question would be if the PC
board was totally populated with the components needed for the connection.

Regards, Scott E. who is ready to stand corrected at the drop of a hat :)

        FT: EMS VCS3 for Serge...

        2006-06-04 by Tim J

        Hi Group,

I recently acquired a couple of Serge panels and I just can't get enough.
If anyone out there is interested in trading a couple of their panels for a
very nice VCS-3 please get in touch with me.

        Thanks,
        Tim
