stop ground hum

Hi all

I have second-hand Serge 5 panel, it came with 2 power boxes (one bigger
than the other)..I have 2 black banana leads (one about 40cm the other
is about 200cm) I have plugged the shorter banana lead from one power
box to the other, but have noticed that i am getting a ground hum from
my outs on Soup Kitchen...have i set up the black power bananas correct?

No. The ground wire should connect the two power supplies but you also need to ground any other equipment you plan to use with the Serge to them as well...there should be a black lead with a spade lug on one end.

For example, any MIDI to CV converter needs to be grounded to the common Serge ground or it won't work properly.

The ground connection also needs to go to your system mixer or amplification
ground.
