TKB companion panel advice?

I am devising a custom Serge panel to accompany a TKB and would like
some tips/suggestions. My ideal is to have a panel that compliments
the TKB's strengths for sequencing other panels/synthesizers, but can
also function with the TKB as a complete performance synthesizer (if
even a limited one). This custom panel and TKB will be the beginning
of my new modular, with further Serge and/or Modcan expansion.

Here is what I have come up with:
ADP
2VCA
DTG
DSG
VCFQ
MIX
PCO
PCO
PDIV
QTKB

What are some alternate routes I could take here?

    Take a look at the Sequencer shop panel for ideas... first things that came to my mind, but I'm hardly experienced, were to consider a BLOG, NCOM, and ACPR. What will you use as the main output? How about an ASR? Obviously, someone else may be able to offer far better advice than this, but I thought I'd give it a shot, since it's rather quiet, here ;)

    Thanks for the input. The ACPR and ASR are both good possibilities
    that I hadn't thought about. Would it be worth trading a DTG or DSG
    for them in my layout?
    For main outs I was thinking the dual VCA and ADP adaptors would cover
    it. Would it make more sense to get a UAP instead? I figured the ADP
    would help output voltages to sequence other synths from the TKB.

    Does anyone have the TKB and quantizer? Do you use the quantizer?

    The Animal panel would be the next step after the TKB and custom
    panel. I wish it had a ring mod though....

    ...It *does* however have the Wave Multipliers which give a *huge* ammount of timbre control and you can get Ringmod-like effects by using AM on one half of the UAP. Just add a Ring to your "custom" panel. Make sure you get a DSG in there somewhere before you're through - you'll regret it if you don't. ;)

    Hi Ross,

    You wouldn't happen to have any other shop panels for sale, would you? Without going into
    laborious detail, I'm trying to put together my first Serge system, and I've been inquiring here
    and there about used shop panels before pulling the trigger on some new ones. Let me
    know if you do, and also what you are asking for the sequencer panel, just for fun.

    As a TKB quantizer it's very fine.
    As a generalized quantizer you have to be careful about dithering.
    I think some other quantizers might have more scaling options but I have
    no complaints.

    Hi All,
    I have been a bit disappointed sometimes with the TKB quantizer, due to the audible slew rate between steps. Basically if a sound has a fast attack you can't really use the quantizer or you will hear the glide from one note to the next. Its not so long that the average listener will hear it as portamento, but it does significanltly affect the timbre of the start of the note. The dithering previously mentioned never bothered me.

      I use the regular Serge Quantizer and I have never noticed any slew.

      I don't have a TKB or TKB-Quantizer so YMMV. ;)
