Ancient Surge Schemos?

Ancient Surge Schemos?

2001-03-20 by Abdullah SoCo

Does anyone have schematics or documentation for the early EG or Positive
Slewer?

I have the schematics for most of the other early modules except those two.
If it wouldn't be polititcally incorrect, I can post them to the SMOG site.

Also, there was a Video interface for the Serges. I had a chance to copy
the schemo for that one, but didn't want to bother with it at the time.

i don't know what Rex's take is on posting the schems. johnp, have you dealt with this
issue at egres?

Around 1977, Serge released published several of the early modules
as construction projects in Synapse magazine (anyone got all of these?),
Serge had no problem with publishing the circuits then. This was around
the same time as the more stable, 1v/octave modules started to appear,
and the secrecy about schematics seems to have been associated with
the new improved designs.
The very early Serges were meant as a synthesizer for the people, so
keeping the early schematics secret seems inappropriate.

Hi guys,

This seems like a gray area to me.... If these schematics have already been published, and there's no copyright problem there, it would seem okay. These probably would be of use for general interest and maybe a little DIY building but not much use for fixing or cloning an existing system, so you'd think that Rex would not object too strongly.

But a phone call wouldn't hurt either.
