Make no mistake - it's totally a toy, but it's fun just to mess around with. The cable has a mini stereo plug on one end and the other hooks up to a joystick port. I haven't tried using it with any REAL audio software; maybe I should see if that's even possible. The best uses for the DrumX would be if you "played" a laptop as a live instrument, or if you could use it with other software (especially for someone who writes their own programs: better software for it would be great!)
