I'm no "techie"; but the only thing I can think of is that perhaps your pots are dirty.
Sometimes dirty pots (dust, lint, cigarrette smoke, oxidation, etc.) can create noise problems, as well as intermittent signal loss.
Your local music instrument retailer may have pot-cleaning spray that can help solve the problem.  Otherwise, you may have to take your module to a qualified repair person at
the music instrument retailer.
 
Nonetheless, I'm sure someone here may know more about this and can help you.
